Use the Pasco County Clerk criminal search route for criminal court records. Criminal court searches are separate from Official Records. The Clerk's criminal courts information covers felony, misdemeanor and criminal traffic matters.
Before selecting a filing or disposition, prepare available identifiers such as the known case number, name, court information, date information and other case details that help identify the exact record.
Sealed, expunged and confidential records may be excluded from ordinary public access. Viewing the contents of a sealed file requires the applicable court order before access is available.
For older or paper-file questions, contact the records location before traveling. East Pasco: 38319 McDonald Street, Dade City, 352-521-4489. West Pasco: 8902 Government Drive, New Port Richey, 727-847-8962. Call with case numbers to confirm the file holder and readiness. Patrons requesting 12 or more files must arrive before 3 p.m.; call the records location with case numbers to confirm the file holder and readiness before traveling.
Closed paper files may have been destroyed while filmed records remain available. If a record cannot be located, provide the approximate year, full identifiers, document type and requested format. An unavailable record does not by itself prove a conviction or a clean history.
Pasco County Clerk fees distinguish between viewing records, copies, certifications and assisted searches. Court document copies are $1 per page, certification is $2 per document, and assisted record searches are $2 per name per year. Computer record searches and physical viewing are free.
The Clerk's E-Certify route allows a user to obtain available certified court documents by entering a local or uniform case number, selecting an available document, and completing the electronic certification purchase process. When available, the certified document can be downloaded or emailed immediately. If a document is unavailable through E-Certify, contact the appropriate Clerk office for assistance.
E-Certify charges include a $6 convenience fee per document and a 3.5% card processing fee in addition to applicable copy or certification charges. Before purchasing, confirm that the recipient accepts electronic certification.
Pasco Sheriff public-record requests use the current JustFOIA public-records portal for new requests. The Sheriff's Office notice states that new public-record requests moved to JustFOIA on September 7, 2026. The previous GovQA system is used only to track earlier requests submitted before the transition.
To help locate a PSO-held record, prepare available identifiers such as a report number, or the person's name and date of birth together with incident location, date, time and report type information when known. Sheriff records may include local law-enforcement records or arrests handled by the agency, but they are not a complete court-record search or statewide criminal-history repository.
Creating an account is optional for the public-record portal. The Sheriff's Office also lists phone, mail, email and in-person request options. For Pasco Sheriff public-record requests, the agency may provide an advance good-faith cost estimate when charges apply. Review begins after receipt of any required deposit, full payment is required before release when costs apply, and the final cost may differ from the estimate. Redactions, availability limits, and request tracking continue to depend on the requested record and agency review.
Florida criminal-history searches are separate from Pasco County court searches and Sheriff records. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) provides a Florida-only instant non-certified search option. The search uses name, race, sex and date of birth information and can provide results for printing or email delivery. The fee is $24 plus a $1 processing fee, for a total of $25 even when no record is found.
FDLE electronic requests for staff-processed certified or non-certified results use a different route. FDLE lists a $24 fee for those requests, with regular-mail delivery. Published processing estimates are approximately five business days for non-certified results or six to seven business days for certified results, plus delivery time. These are estimates and are not a universal completion guarantee.
An ORI-based request is limited to situations with a valid agency-supplied identifier. Results are sent to the authorized recipient, and fees vary by request type. Do not select an ORI unless it has been provided by the authorized agency.
A Florida history result, court record search, or Sheriff record request answers different questions. A no-result response or possible name match does not establish complete identity or complete criminal-history clearance.
Before requesting a record, identify whether you need a court case, a law-enforcement record, a certified document, or a statewide criminal-history check. Prepare identifying details such as the person's name and the case or record information available to you, then use the responsible custodian's route.
